​Bhishma Sanatan Vedic Hindu University, America, is functioning under the leadership of Prof. Kshitij Patukale, based on the fundamental concept expressed above, with the ideals of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and “Krinvanto Vishwam Aryam” as its guiding objectives. This project was initiated on Guru Purnima 2020, under the guidance of Hon. Saumitraji Gokhale, through the initiative of Bhishma School of Indian Knowledge System (initially known as Indic Studies). So far, more than 11,000 students have completed certificate, diploma, and master’s courses offered by Bhishma School. From Gudi Padwa 2026, more than 57 students have begun research in the fields of Bhishma Sanatan Vedic Hindu culture, civilization, and knowledge traditions through doctoral and fellow Programmes offered by Bhishma Sanatan Vedic Hindu University, America.

 

Bhishma Foundation firmly believes that the only solutions for the problems faced by the entire world today is the Sanatan Vedic Hindu education system and Sanatan way of life. Today, we are experiencing with great intensity the consequences of western knowledge traditions and western culture having brought the entire world to the brink of destruction. The time has come to uproot from its very foundations, the western education and western way of life that is destroying creation through the belief that human life exists only for Artha (monetary earning) and Kama (fulfilling endless desires), and that all natural resources exist solely for human use. Wars among various countries, a deteriorating climate, disturbed environmental cycles, uncontrolled scientific development, the crisis of Artificial Intelligence, i.e.  AI, a society devoid of values and deteriorating morally, economies of various countries collapsing due to excessive profiteering, the destruction of the family system, and human beings living without purpose and in helplessness have together created an extremely terrible situation.

 

At such a time, there is an urgent need to present afresh, in accordance with the needs of the present age, the Hindu way of life, which teaches “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” and “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya”, and which maintains the balance of the universe through Vyashti (Individual), Samashti (Society) and Parameshti (Cosmos), based on ethical conduct, faith, and duty. Drawing upon the foundation of the 14 Vidyas and 64 Kalas, and keeping the ideals of the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Puranas, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Smriti texts, and Dharma Shastras before us, it has become extremely necessary today to revive the ancient education system and way of life.

 

During the time of Macaulay, there were more than three lakh Gurukulas in India. They were completely self-sufficient and supported by society. The students who emerged from them became brilliant and strong citizens. That is why, from ancient times, India enjoyed such prosperity that it was said that “the smoke of gold rose from every household,” and such prosperity continued until the beginning of the nineteenth century.

 

The primary objective of Bhishma University is to empower more than seventy per cent of Hindu youth among the total population by imparting to them knowledge of the 14 Vidyas and 64 Kalas, and through them to establish the ethical, spiritual, and cultural influence of Sanatan Vedic Hindu Dharma throughout the world. For this purpose, the Bhishma Foundation is undertaking various educational, cultural, religious, and spiritual initiatives.

 

The principal objective of the Bhishma Foundation is not merely to restore India as a Vishwaguru in the spiritual realm, but also to once again take India to the pinnacle of economic and worldly prosperity through divine wealth.
